GCT projects represent long-term initiatives developed to support institutional collaboration, community engagement, and sustained impact across regions. Each project contributes to broader efforts in education, cultural engagement, environmental stewardship, and social development, with implementation designed to extend beyond short-term programme cycles.
GCT's project portfolio consists of three long-term initiatives addressing leadership development, social integration, and environmental sustainability across regions. Each project is structured to support institutional collaboration, community engagement, and continuity beyond short-term programme cycles.
This timeline outlines the phased development of GCT's core initiatives, from institutional establishment through to long-term implementation across regions.
ICSG-L is an academic and leadership initiative focused on cultural studies, intercultural engagement, and leadership development in a global context. It is designed to support individuals working across cultures, institutions, and regions, with an emphasis on dialogue, cooperation, and informed leadership in increasingly interconnected societies.
ICSG-L brings together academic research, leadership development, and intercultural engagement within a unified framework. It contributes to ongoing efforts to strengthen understanding between cultures, support collaboration across institutions, and enhance leadership capacity in diverse environments.
The institute is planned with an academic presence in Geneva, a recognised centre for international cooperation, and coordinated through GCT's Secretariat in Gjøvik, Norway. Its structure includes multi-regional engagement through distributed nodes, supporting participation across different regions.
Migration is a significant and continuing feature of global society. Across regions, individuals and communities live between cultures, maintaining connections to their heritage while participating in the social and institutional life of their countries of residence. This reality presents both opportunities and challenges related to identity, belonging, and social cohesion.
GCT's Migration, Integration and Diaspora Engagement Platform is being developed to support constructive engagement in this space. The initiative focuses on cultural continuity, social participation, and strengthening connections between diaspora communities and their countries of origin. The platform approaches diaspora communities as contributors to cultural exchange, social development, and cross-border understanding.
GCT welcomes engagement from diaspora organisations, governments, academic institutions, and development partners interested in contributing to the development of this platform.
Environmental sustainability and responsible resource management are central to long-term human development. Across regions, there is increasing recognition of the need for integrated approaches that connect environmental protection, agriculture, community livelihoods, and sustainable growth.
GCT's Environmental Stewardship and Sustainable Agriculture Platform is designed to support practical initiatives in environmental management and agriculture. The platform brings together multiple focus areas, including land use, water systems, food production, and energy, within a coordinated framework. Initial implementation is being explored with a regional focus in Africa, with the platform intended for broader application through collaboration with partners across different regions.
Engagement is open to governments, research institutions, development partners, and community organisations.
Governments, academic institutions, development partners, diaspora organisations, and civil society actors are invited to engage with GCT's project portfolio across its different stages of development. Partnerships may include collaboration in programme design, research, implementation, or institutional cooperation aligned with GCT Vision 2036.
